About Us

GO Nordic creates unique, curated experiences in southeast Sweden for curious international travellers. We keep groups small, move at an unhurried pace, and give you genuine insight into Swedish culture, history, and everyday life — not a scripted sightseeing checklist.

Your guide is Terje, a Karlskrona local with years of experience showing visitors the city he actually lives in. His depth of knowledge is the kind you can't get from a textbook — or a bus window. Guests regularly call their tour with Terje the highlight of their trip.

All tours can run as fully private experiences, tailored to your pace, interests, and group size.

Our tours are part of the Nordic Reset philosophy: small groups, local guides, private access, unhurried pace, and genuine insight into Swedish culture and history.

We had a wonderful Walking and Tasting Tour in Karlskrona with Terje and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

Terje was incredibly welcoming and friendly from the moment we met. He brought the fascinating history of Karlskrona to life, explaining how the town was founded and why it played such an important role in protecting Sweden from invasion. His knowledge was excellent, and he answered all of our questions with enthusiasm.

We also learnt so much about Swedish culture and traditions, and it was great fun tasting a selection of Swedish sweets that we'd never come across in the UK. One of the highlights was enjoying a traditional Swedish fika. Rather than feeling like a guided tour, it felt as though we were sitting in a café chatting with a new friend.

Terje tailored the tour to our interests, making it feel personal and relaxed, and we came away with a much deeper appreciation of Karlskrona and Swedish life. Thank you, Terje, for such an enjoyable and memorable experience!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Karlskrona a UNESCO World Heritage city?

Yes. Karlskrona was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998. It is Sweden's only mainland city with UNESCO status, recognised for its exceptionally well-preserved 17th-century naval architecture, urban planning, and fortifications built across 30 interconnected islands.

  • Are GO Nordic tours suitable for cruise passengers?

Yes — both walking tours are designed with cruise guests in mind. They start and end centrally, run in 2 hours, and are kept small so timing is reliable. Cruise passengers with 3 or more hours in port can also take the seasonal hop-on hop-off boat from Dragsö back to the city centre after the 6 Islands tour.

  • How much do guided tours in Karlskrona cost?

The 6 Islands History Walking Tour starts from 395 SEK per person. The Life in Sweden tasting tour includes all food and drink tastings in the price and cost from 595 SEK. Private tour pricing is available on request — contact us at contact@gonordic.se.

  • Can I book a private tour?

Yes. Both tours are available as fully private experiences for couples, families, or small groups. Private tours can be tailored to your pace, interests, and schedule. Contact us directly to arrange.

  • What is the Nordic Reset travel philosophy?

Nordic Reset is GO Nordic's approach to travel: small groups, local guides, private access, unhurried pace, and genuine insight into Swedish culture and history. It is the opposite of a panoramic bus tour. Designed for travellers who want to understand a place, not just photograph it.

  • Are the tours suitable for all ages and fitness levels?

Yes. Both tours move at a moderate walking pace on mostly flat ground and are suitable for all fitness levels. The 6 Islands tour ends at Dragsö where guests can rest, swim, or catch the boat back at their own pace.
